Richard Mourdock to speak at Sugar Grove Church

Richard Mourdock, Indiana State Treasurer and former candidate for Indiana Senate, will be speaking at Sugar Grove Church of God this Sunday morning, November 10th, for both services, 8:15 A.M. and 10:30 A.M.

Sunday School classes which normally meet at 9:30 have been cancelled for this week to give a greet and meet time with a continental breakfast. You would have the opportunity to speak with Richard if you so choose.

Mr. Mourdock will be speaking on THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN.  Sugar Grove chose the month of November to invite Richard to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address.  Those of you who have ever heard Mr. Mourdock speak, knows he speaks from the heart and is an awesome speaker.  Mr. Mourdock is a history buff, reading history nearly every day and he is an expert on Abraham Lincoln.

All are invited to hear Mr. Mourdock speak this Sunday.

Sugar Grove Church of God is located at 5019 E. 500 S., Churubusco, IN 46723. (Note: Sometimes GPS has a difficult time locating the church which is actually barely across the county line so is in Noble County.

These are the driving directions from Churubusco:

  • The intersection of 33 & 205 has a fifth street: Line Street.
  • Turn onto Line Street and continue until you have to turn at the T.
  • Turn LEFT at this T and at the very next road, turn RIGHT. (That road actually is a T road and you can only turn RIGHT!).
  • The church will be found at the 1st intersection.

For questions, contact Linda Zimmerman at 260-691-3963.

Church Nursery and Children’s Church (for those who want to take advantage) will be staffed during both services. Children are always welcome in the Sanctuary.

When Good People are Disarmed, BAD THINGS HAPPEN! New Billboard for WCP

We have placed a new message on our billboard on US Highway 30 just west of Larwill:

12x36 opt 3

“…the Right to Keep and Bear Arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.”  Why is this so hard to understand?

The Founders wrote this Amendment to allow the People to protect their own life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

There are countless examples in history of governments and authorities registering weapons, confiscating weapons, and killing thousands and millions of their SUBJECTS in attempts to gain or retain their power.  The plight of the Jews in Nazi Germany is just one glaring example.

For a list of these genocides during the 20th Century, click on this link –> Genocide Chart related to Gun Control

If you think “this can’t happen here…etc”, you need to read your history.  The most extreme example of bad things happening to good people while disarmed is pre-Civil War American slavery.  Before you cry “RAAACIST!” all over this statement, please ponder the following fact:

If you think that American gun control laws are “safety measures”, “for the children”, or because “normal people don’t need guns”, think about this:

The US Senator who penned the 1968 Gun Control Act OWNED A COPY of the Nazi Germany Weapons Law, and used it as a blueprint for the 1968 US Law.
Source — – Gun Control’s Nazi Connection

The recent push for new gun control laws is unprecedented and disgusting.  For months, Americans were subjected to daily parades of the Sandy Hook victims’ families by the national media in a blatant attempt to sway public opinion on the subject.  Fearful Americans did the opposite of the Government’s wishes by buying guns by the truckload.  Government agencies let purchase orders for BILLIONS of rounds of ammunition, attempting (and succeeding, for the most part) in restricting the availability of ammo for the guns that Americans already own.

The IRS has been targeting groups and individuals for their political beliefs.  This is just an indication of an out-of-control Government.

The Obama Administration allowed 4 Americans, including Ambassador Stevens, to be MURDERED in Benghazi, while our Armed Forces were given orders to STAND DOWN.  No military officer that made it through basic training could ever give that order.  We don’t leave Americans behind, EVER.  The very concept is highly offensive to American military officers.  That order must have been issued by a civilian without military training.  This is an indication of a Government who is willing to LET AMERICANS DIE to cover up the truth.

Now, we learn what some have suspected for many years…the Government is collecting MASSIVE amounts of data on Americans.  This data can be used to reconstruct the daily activities of any American that this Government wishes to target.

The Founders gave us the answer we need for times like these.  This Government is owned by WE THE PEOPLE, not by the bureaucrats and elected officials.  This Government needs to FEAR THE PEOPLE, not the people fearing the IRS, NSA, EPA, and the rest of the alphabet soup that is our out-of-control, overspending, overtaxing, and over-regulating Federal Government.  Gun control is about CONTROL.  Whoever controls the guns controls EVERYTHING.

The Second Amendment provides us personal freedom, liberty, and security at the ground level, which is a task that at which no government can succeed.  It is the glue that holds our American way of life together.  Without the Second Amendment, the rest of our Founding Documents are nothing but pieces of paper to be burned at the stake (or in the ovens) in our hands as we succumb to tyranny.

Repeal the 17th Amendment!

From The National Review:

In our grubby, unhelpful political lexicon, certain words exist solely to end conversations. The most prominent such word is “racist.” Less popular, but by no means less potent, are “democracy” and “rights.” When welded together as “democratic rights,” the pair becomes all-powerful — strong enough to send grown men spinning for the exits and to render eloquent speakers mute.

For a good example of this principle in motion, witness the orthodox reaction to anyone who calls for the repeal of the 17th Amendment. (Direct election of senators, if you’re wondering.) Removing this ugly violation from the Constitution it so corrupts is an idea that has long lingered on the fringe (there’s another of those conversation-terminating words) and, until the massive expansion of federal power that marked the past decade and woke up the sleeping libertarians, it seemed destined to remain there in perpetuity. Even now, to declare in public that you think the whole of 1913 was one long, ghastly mistake is to be looked at as if you have just announced that the United States should consider restoring the British monarchy.

Providing what may be the Platonic ideal of such dismissals, Salon’s Alex Seitz-Wald reacted to the renewed interest by declaring in 2012 that, because any increase of democracy was “unquestionably positive,” any modifications were tantamount to “doing away with rights.” America, “we’re told from a young age, is all about democracy,” Seitz-Wald wrote, “and democracy is all about choosing whom you want to be your representative and holding them accountable.” This, he added, “seems like an entirely uncontroversial idea.” I cannot account for Mr. Seitz-Wald’s grasp of America’s history, beyond saying that if he has indeed been told “from a young age” that America is “all about democracy,” then he must be forgiven for believing it. Still, whatever his schools might have told him, the United States is not in fact a democracy but a constitutional republic, and her virtues lie as much in her undemocratic institutions as in her ample provisions for self-rule — more, perhaps.

Southern Poverty Law Center Chronicles ‘Explosive’ Rise in Radical Anti-Government ‘Patriot Movement’

From The Blaze:

The number of radical anti-government “Patriot” and militia groups in the U.S. soared to an all-time high last year, according to a new report from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The “Patriot movement,” according to the organization, “believes that the federal government is conspiring to take Americans’ guns and destroy their liberties as it paves the way for a global ‘one-world government.’”

The Southern Poverty Law Center — a left-leaning nonprofit that monitors groups it deems hateful and extremist, including the Ku Klux Klan, New Black Panther Party and Aryan Nation — tracked 1,360 such groups in 2012, up from 1,274 in 2011 and a meteoric surge from 149 in 2008.

That rise, according to the center, is due to the election of Barack Obama as the nation’s first black president and anger over the economic downturn, and is likely to continue with the White House-led push for more gun control.

“We are seeing a real and rising threat of domestic terrorism as the number of far-right anti-government groups continues to grow at an astounding pace,” Mark Potok, a senior fellow at the center and the author of the report, said in a statement. “It is critically important that the country take this threat seriously. The potential for deadly violence is real, and clearly rising.”

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sent Tuesday, the center asked for a government task force to assess the situation, likening it to the period before the 1995 Oklahoma City domestic terror bombing.

“As in the period before the Oklahoma City bombing, we now also are seeing ominous threats from those who believe that the government is poised to take their guns,” the letter stated. “Because of the looming dangers, we urge you to establish an interagency task force to assess the adequacy of resources devoted to responding to the growing threat of non-Islamic domestic terrorism.”

Barack Obama: “People Should Not Be Able To Own Guns”

From The Ulsterman Report:

Despite his repeated attempts to paint himself as a Second Amendment moderate, Barack Obama has a consistent history of being one who feels private citizens have NO right to own a gun.  Period.  And where was the Mainstream Media in vetting Barack Obama on this important issue prior to his being voted in as President of the United States – TWICE?  Does anyone think Barack Obama would ever have won a national election if he had come out and admitted his true feelings regarding the Second Amendment?  Hell no…
