Reminder: Old Settlers Days Parade and July Meeting

Just a reminder that we will have a float in the Old Settlers Days parade tomorrow, and we need as many patriots as possible to join us on the float.  We will meet at Columbia City High School at 4:00pm, and the parade starts at 5:00pm.  Come out and show your patriotic spirit!

Also, don’t forget that our July meeting is this Tuesday, July 1st.  We will have several speakers, and many military vets and active service people with us.  Come out and show your support and appreciation for our military.  Shake their hands and tell them, “Welcome home!”  It’s never too late to say that to someone in the military.

Richard Mourdock to speak at Sugar Grove Church

Richard Mourdock, Indiana State Treasurer and former candidate for Indiana Senate, will be speaking at Sugar Grove Church of God this Sunday morning, November 10th, for both services, 8:15 A.M. and 10:30 A.M.

Sunday School classes which normally meet at 9:30 have been cancelled for this week to give a greet and meet time with a continental breakfast. You would have the opportunity to speak with Richard if you so choose.

Mr. Mourdock will be speaking on THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN.  Sugar Grove chose the month of November to invite Richard to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address.  Those of you who have ever heard Mr. Mourdock speak, knows he speaks from the heart and is an awesome speaker.  Mr. Mourdock is a history buff, reading history nearly every day and he is an expert on Abraham Lincoln.

All are invited to hear Mr. Mourdock speak this Sunday.

Sugar Grove Church of God is located at 5019 E. 500 S., Churubusco, IN 46723. (Note: Sometimes GPS has a difficult time locating the church which is actually barely across the county line so is in Noble County.

These are the driving directions from Churubusco:

  • The intersection of 33 & 205 has a fifth street: Line Street.
  • Turn onto Line Street and continue until you have to turn at the T.
  • Turn LEFT at this T and at the very next road, turn RIGHT. (That road actually is a T road and you can only turn RIGHT!).
  • The church will be found at the 1st intersection.

For questions, contact Linda Zimmerman at 260-691-3963.

Church Nursery and Children’s Church (for those who want to take advantage) will be staffed during both services. Children are always welcome in the Sanctuary.

Walid Shoebat speaking at ‘The Awakening’ in Warsaw

You are invited to The Awakening.

Watch the two-minute promo video at

Returning to the God of the Bible is the only thing that will save our great nation.

God did not say in 2 Chronicles 7:14  “ . . . if the wicked people in Washington, D.C. repent, or if the abortionists stop killing babies, or if the adulterers and pornographers change, or if all the drug users kick their habits, etc., etc.”

He said, “If my people . . .”

It will begin with us!

There will be many bands, testimonies, praises, prophecies, and great speakers.  But the bottom line is that we need a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost . . . just like in the book of Acts.

If you cannot attend, please pray for us.

We will begin at 3:00 Sunday afternoon with Focused Prayer and Praise.

Their will be many youth leading this 3 and 1/2 hours of music.

The evening sessions begin at 6:30pm Sunday through Friday.

You’re invited to join us Tuesday morning for breakfast with Walid Shoebat at 8:00am, in the tent. Walid will speak, and we will take up an offering; 100% of the offering will go to rescue christian families in Pakistan.

With Faith in God,

Tim & Ruth Yoder

After hearing Mr. Shoebat’s testimony and scholarship your view of the scriptures will never be the same. Hear him Monday evening.
Tuesday evening hear Dr. Rick Scarborough. In 1998, he founded Vision America, an organization whose mission is to “inform and mobilize Pastors and their congregations to become salt and light, becoming pro-active in restoring Judeo-Christian values in America.” Dr. Scarborough’s work has been featured in numerous articles and publications around the nation. A partial listing includes the New York Times, Washington Post, Kansas City Star, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Boston Globe and the Congressional Quarterly. 8-24 ‘Restoring Courage’ Viewing Locations

We have received two invitations for Glenn Beck’s Restoring Courage viewing parties:

From Fort Wayne 9/12:

Greetings & Shalom!

Last summer many of us were fortunate to attend  Restoring Honor in Washington DC.  Many more of us were able to watch or listen to the event locally by TV or radio.  Those who participated in  this event remember the powerful effect it has on us.  We are better people for having taken action and incorporated the virtue of living with greater honor in our lives.

Next week, on Wednesday August 24th another such event named Restoring Courage is taking place in Israel, in the ancient and historic city of Jerusalem. As most of us know, Israel is facing a number of enemies around the world dedicated to and calling for its destruction. In recent months this talk seems to be growing at a quicker pace. Just this week, Israel has suffered another terrorist attack on their southern border near Egypt.  Americans and other people of faith who are traveling there from around the world to attend the Restoring Courage event, know that that people of faith cannot stand idly by as this talk escalates. The time for action is NOW.  We are being challenged to stand with COURAGE to lend our voices in support of ISRAEL.

At the Restoring Courage event people from around the world will be coming together in peaceful assembly at the South Wall of the Temple Mount, to let the Nation of Israel and the Jewish people know that they are not alone. Many Americans, regardless of faith or political affiliation, understand the truth that Israel faces, and know that it is imperative that the world now stand with the Nation of Israel.

So please join us that day by joining with our those that will be there in person. Through the miracle of modern technology viewing parties are being established all over the country, and the world for this event.  Locally, our Fort Wayne 9/12 is privileged to be one among the many international viewing parties.  All are invited to join with us to STAND WITH ISRAEL.

The Fort Wayne 9/12 is hosting two viewing parties.

Where: Classic Cafe  4832 Hillegas Road
Fort Wayne, IN

When:  Wednesday, August 24th.

  • Morning:  Live broadcast from Jerusalem, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. EDT, pre-program begins at 9:00 a.m.
  • Evening: A second viewing rebroadcast of the event is scheduled for 8:00pm

Please pray for the safety of all those who have traveled to participate and attend this historic event in Israel.  We hope to see you there on Wednesday!

Don’t complain about the income tax – get rid of it!

Help get HR 25 /S 13 passed.  This nonpartisan bill eliminates the IRS “as we know it” and replaces the income tax with the FairTax.

The FairTax

  • Is a federal consumption tax of 23 cents out of every dollar spent on retail purchases
  • Raises the same amount of revenue for the federal government
  • Creates jobs, where the current system destroys jobs
  • Gives you your paycheck free of federal withholding
  • Eliminates the payroll tax – our most regressive federal tax
  • Provides a monthly rebate that ends taxes up to the poverty level
  • Taxes the trillion-dollar underground economy
  • The tax base is dramatically widened by including consumer spending from the underground economy (estimated at $1.5 trillion annually), and by including illegal immigrants, as well as those who escape their fair share today through loopholes and gimmicks. In addition, 40 million foreign tourists a year will become American taxpayers as consumers here.

Together we can make it happen!
