Dems accuse Tea Party of wanting minorities “hanging on a tree,” “at war” with a black President

From Hot Air:

What happens when your entire political philosophy is so discredited that you can’t even make a coherent argument for it any longer? If you’re Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), it’s simple — you just call your opponents who are winning the debate “racists” and accuse them of being comfortable with lynching:

A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me…hanging on a tree.”

It’s not the first time the “Jim Crow” accusation has flown this year. Earlier it was the chair of the DNC, Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who tossed out that smear, only to shamefacedly retract it when it made national news.   Why?  Because it was reprehensible demagoguery of the worst kind, a fact that was obvious to everyone — or at least obvious to everyone outside the CBC.

Via the Right Scoop, Allen West is now reconsidering his CBC membership:

And for good reason. The civil-rights movement was not a political effort aimed primarily at deficit spending and massive government growth. It was a movement intended to eliminate real and official racial discrimination. Carson’s words are not just evil, they are entirely ignorant and as damaging to the cause of equality as they are to rational political debate. Not only should Carson be reprimanded for his words, he should really be shunned, and hopefully replaced in the next election by voters in his district.

NAACP Joins Left-Wing Groups to ‘Monitor’ Tea Party Groups

From The Blaze:

“A watched tea pot never boils.”

That’s the rallying slogan of a new online “watchdog” site launched by the NAACP, in conjunction with partners ThinkProgress, George Soros’ Media Matters and a group called New Left Media. advertises itself as a site that “monitors racism and other forms of extremism within the Tea Party movement.”

According to the Daily Caller, the NAACP reached out to the various groups for help in compiling information implicating the Tea Party:

Media Matters and Think Progress representatives said their content and reporting haven’t changed and that the NAACP approached their organizations seeking only to republish select content they’ve produced. The NAACP’s new is aimed specifically at highlighting “racism” in the Tea Party.

New Left Media, the duo of Chase Whiteside and Erick Stoll who use a “Trojan trick” to get interviews with Tea Partiers, is also a partner organization on the new site.

As for what Media Matters, New Left Media, Think Progress and the NAACP plan to do with, Think Progress editor Faiz Shakir and Media Matters Vice President for Research and Communications Ari Rabin-Havt said the NAACP contacted them about sharing content related to the Tea Party.

Tea Partiers beware — the NAACP is watching you, and they now have a website where people can post “evidence” of racism and extremism.  But despite Andrew Breitbart’s offer of a sizable reward for solid evidence, there remains none.

Judged By The Color Of Their Skin And Not By The Content Of Their Character?

From RedState:

In his “I have a dream speech”, Martin Luther King Jr. said this:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

In presenting Barack Obama to the Nation as a potential President, we were asked to judge him on the content of his character and not by the color of his skin (the dream Dr. King died fighting to fulfill). In Barack Obama, America was offered the first real opportunity to test whether we had moved beyond the terrible injustices of our dark past. Yet, upon his election…his ascension to power…we were asked to take off those blindfolds and see that he was, after all, a black man and that we should celebrate our passage (ostensibly through him) into an unbiased America; an America that had finally proven its ability to be truly color blind, to come to terms with the horrors of its past, and to finally overcome them.

It’s impossible to believe that President Obama and his Administration actually buys in to this idea that we have moved beyond race and into a new generation of a color blind society, when you consider the blatant reverse discrimination his Attorney General (yes, his African American Attorney General) Eric Holder has been pursuing in the name of leveling the playing field in matters of Justice. Holder, it would seem, is still judging people by the color of their skin.

Consider the latest news on the story about the “alleged” New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case first reported back on election day 2008. Check the video for yourself here…and then join me after the jump to find out why a white guy from the DOJ quit his job so he could testify before the US Commission on Civil Rights about Obama’s Administration, and his useful idiot Holder, and how they really can’t be bothered to worry about white victims of black-perpetrated crimes anymore. Apparently, suing a State for making laws the Fed refuses to enforce is way more cool than enforcing voter intimidation laws…so long as only black guys are committing them against white people at least

There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. — James Madison, speech to the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 16, 1788
